We love having fresh greens in the winter!

Here’s how our CSA pickups work

We set up farmer's market style at your pickup location and you arrive during the pickup window to pack your share. An Owl's Nest Farmer is present to provide instructions, answer questions, and swap recipes.

With your winter CSA you’ll get delicious produce when local options are limited, including greens of all sorts, carrots, roots like radishes and turnips, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbage, garlic, scallions, herbs, broccoli, and more. We'll source some items from farmer friends, but always let you know where they're from.

Add-on options

All add-ons are distributed monthly/every other pickup.

  • A rotating selection of locally grown grains and/or beans from Purple Mountain Organics, including rice, oats, and more.

  • Mushrooms from King Mushrooms. You’ll get one pound of mixed mushrooms Enjoy varieties like cremini, portobello, shiitake, and more.

  • With our solidarity add-on, experience a local food and farming product created by people of color, women, and/or nonbinary people.

  • New for 2023! Meat from Open Book Farm. Get a farmer’s choice share of 2-4 cuts of pasture-raised pork and chicken, and grassfed beef.

  • New for 2023! Honey from Owl’s Nest bees. Get a pound of local honey, made by our very own bees & neighborhood beekeepers.

We love fresh, local produce. Having produce selected for you expands your diet and forces you to cook new recipes. In winter, a CSA has more variety than the market. The price was also pretty competitive with the market.
